Paul Mitchell Seal and Shine

Haiirrrr styling!!! Curling irons, hair straighteners, blow dryers, etc, cause damage to the hair. You know that right? Any heat used on the hair is not good. We use them anyways but too much use of these tools can destroy your hair.

I understand that sometimes we have to go to parties/events and you want to look the best. You want your hair to have those perfect curls or as poker straight as Lady Gagas'. We can't completely stop the damage when using heat but we can reduce the damage that will be caused. Using a heat protectant on the hair will help do so.

Paul Mitchell is a well known brand and they have amazing products such as the 'Seal and Shine'. This product seals the hair shaft and gives it a protective layer. It doesn't let the heat penetrate through. It conditions and moisturizes the hair. The product adds shine to your hair after you've used heat. Use this spray more on the ends than on the roots. Best results are when you use this on slightly damp hair but you can also use it on dry hair. This spray doesn't have any smell to it. A little is enough, too much of this spray can weigh the hair down and make it look greasy.

There are many brands which sell such products. A very popular one is the Tresemme heat protectant. They all work the same way. But make sure you use a heat protectant before you heat style your hair. You don't want your hair to get burnt and fall off, do you?

Mac Hug Me

If you know, I have been slowly collecting Mac lipsticks. And for my dark skin tone, it is really hard to find a perfect nude shade of lipstick. Sometimes the nude is too light or it's too pigmented, and it just doesn't look good on me.

'Hug Me' is perfect for my skin tone. It's a Luster finish so it has a little gloss and it's not too pigmented. It is a pinky-biege brown almost like Mac 'Spirit' but with more gloss.
You can hardly see the swatch on my skin. It is not very pigmented. The nude almost matches my skin tone. You can see it only because of the gloss.
As I told you, both the lipsticks look almost the same. Just that 'Spirit' is a Satin finish and 'Hug Me' is a Luster.

The product doesn't dry my lips at all. It last for about 3-4 hours. You post probably will have to reapply it later. As all Mac lipsticks, it has a light chocolate kind of smell. This is perfect for a everyday lipstick. :)

Organix Moroccan Argan Oil

Healthy hair important. If you watch YouTube videos on hair routine then you must have heard of Argan oil. You might find this oil in a lot of hair products: shampoo, conditioner, etc. I have been using this product for about a little more than 6 months. The Organix Moroccan Argan Oil is a lightweight oil. Its not as thick as coconut or olive oil. It's more like a hair serum than an oil, if you ask me.

There's been a lot of talk about this product lately. Argan oil is an ingredient that is rich in vitamins and antioxidants. It helps the hair shaft restore shine and keeps it strong. It helps in the elasticity and protects the hair from the harmful UV rays. It takes away the frizziness and makes it smooth.

The packaging of this product is quite sleek. It comes in a small blue bottle with a flip top. The oil has a nice sweet floral smell to it, nothing overpowering. This oil is perfect for any type of hair, especially fine hair.

After you have tower dried your hair, apply a small amount of Argan oil to the ends of your hair. Best results is when your hair is still damp. Then spread it by rubbing your hands gently through the wet hair. Remember not to be too harsh because your hair is still damp and damp hair is a little fragile. As your hair dries, you'll be able to see that the ends are well moisturized. This oil works best at the ends of your hair than at the roots. I don't apply them to my roots because I feel like it weighs down my hair and makes it look flat at the top.

Taking care of the ends of your hair is important as they are the oldest part of your hair and it need more attention. Organix is getting more and more easily available in India so I don't think it will be hard for you to find this product. I use this in my daily hair routine. Have loved it so far. 5/5 for this one!

What do you use on your hair?

Weather Report

Hello everyone!! How are you doing?

The past one month has been pretty good actually. Well, it started off with me being a little sick but it got better. Thats why I haven't been posting. Been meeting my friends, going out for lunches and some shopping. The month was filled with ironic moments and emotions.

If you follow me on Instagram then you must know that I got a cute lil haircut. Jean Claude Biguine hairstylists are just really very good. They always give me the right kind of haircut which will suit my face. I didn't go too short because I've always had short hair and I really want to grow it now. My hairstyle was inspired by Lauren Conrad.

Visited the Comedy Store to watch Daniel Fernandes, Aditi Mittal and Tanmay Bhatt do some comedy! It was one of the best comedy shows I've been to. Hilarious! Also, I met the author of Shantaram! My friends and I went to the Nehru Center Art Gallery to meet Gregory David Roberts.

He was accompanied by Rahul Boss. Gregory was really inspiring. I had to get his autograph. His signature is very interesting and weird, right? Haha! That was followed by a wonderful laughter packed comedy show by Rohan Joshi. Brilliant stuff! Laughed out loud hearing Townie and Religious jokes. Like, how many crack jokes on Religion, eh?

Those are some interesting things this past month. The weather has been cloudy with a lil sunshine
Tell me what you did. :)

Monsoon Do's and Don'ts

Monsoon’s here!!! =D
Mumbai is known for its' rainy season! Some love it, others hate it. But it is one season you must experience in Mumbai. In order to experience it in the right way, you’ll have to follow some Do’s and Don’ts.
If you live in Mumbai, you know that the roads will be filled with potholes and puddles and who knows what’s in that water. And even when you dodge all those puddles, you always end up getting your feet wet, don’t you?

Here’s a list of essentials for this season:
  1. Anti-fungal talc powder
  2. Moisturizer (preferably peppermint)
  3. Sunscreen
  4. Lemon juice and salt
  5. Olive oil (or baby oil)
  6. An old toothbrush
  7. A small pedicure kit
  8. Towel (separately for your feet)
What you need to do:
After you get out of the shower, pat your foot dry and apply sunscreen if you are going out (20 min before you step out). Apply anti-fungal talc and wear rain sandals, which has a good, grip in water and are waterproof.
When you get back home, wash your feet with water. Clean your toes with that old toothbrush or a toe cleaner. Rub on some moisturizer and remember to rub them between the toes too.

This regime will keep your feet clean and hydrated.

What you can do every week:
Prepare a small tub with hot water like in the salon. Add some lemon juice, a teaspoon of salt, a drop of olive oil or baby oil, a teaspoon of Dettol and little hand wash or body wash. Soak your feet in for about 10 minuets. Wash with cold water and pat them dry. Cut your nails and use a foot file to remove dead cells. Lastly, apply some moisturizer.

If you want don’t want to do this than get a pedicure from a salon, which uses sterilized tools.
I do this every week and my foot feels great!

Monsoon Don’ts:

  • The most worn footwear in the rainy season! You get them all around the city, mostly in local or street shops. They come in different colors, designs, patterns and are really cheap but do not buy them! These shoes cause flat foot (Plantar Fasciitis) if you wear them regularly, due to the flat sole. They also accumulate dirt, which is not good for your feet.
  • They don’t have any friction on the sole. You can slip while walking.
  • These shoes must not be worn to formal events/meetings. Please don’t do that, it’s a huge turn off!

  • CROCS. The other choice.
  • You might think they have a good grip but they don’t. They have a soft sole, which makes them very slippery. When buying a shoe, see that it has a tough, non-smooth sole. This will give you a better grip.

Also, don’t keep dirty shoes on a shoe rack. This will lead to bacteria growth. Wash them and keep them out in the sun and then bring them into the house.

Follow these steps and have happy feet!

Now, who wants to dance in the rain?

Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Natural

Hey everyone!!
How have you all been?
As I told you in my last Mac Haul Video, heres my review on the Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in the shade Dark.
This ones one of Mac’s best sellers. It is a compact powder in the Mineralize range. This range of products are made by actual minerals and they are baked and not compressed like other compact powders. It is a matte finish. I got the shade Dark but it is a tiny bit dark for my NC45 skin tone. This shade has cool undertones. Mac has a wide range of shades so you can defiantly find the right shade for your skin tone.
The Power is a light – medium finish. It gives a nice matte to satin finish to your skin. I don’t think it is build-able cause it is quite sheer. The product doesn’t have any fragrance or simmer in it. If you have any blemishes this one isn’t going to cover it.I use this to set my foundation routine. It lasts a long time but you might need to reapply if you have oily skin. I always have to reapply on my T-zone, thats where I get really oily. But yeah, good product, just that it doesn’t come with a brush or beauty sponge. You will have to buy one separately. I use the 150 powder brush by Mac. The brush evens out the powder and makes my skin look flawless.
Take a look at my Everyday Makeup Routine, I have used it there. So you might get an idea of how the finish will be.
This product will surely last you a long time. It is not that expensive if you really look into it; totally worth the buy. I’ll give this a 4/5.
